Hi there, there's a residential road on a hill near my house (this one: http://osm.org/go/OVc0itC2c- ) that doesn't go from bottom to the top of it, but runs in a longitudinal way. The thing it that it's sidewalks are not in the same level. It's more or less like this: ___ |___

Three ways, middle one is highway=residential+footway=no, explicit links between the ways where there is a connection (highway=steps). I don't think footway=yes|no is properly documented, but it is referred to in a few places, and I haven't come across an alternative tagging for it. Richard On

I don't think footway=yes|no is properly documented, but it is referred to in a few places, and I haven't come across an alternative tagging for it. Richard I just draw footway separately, simply because they are off the road several meters and sometimes goes in opposite directions. Cheers,
