Hi,

In case you are not aware of, Debian has made an announcement about " Debian's 
hassle-free trademarks" [1] .  I think that the problematic is quite similar to 
the one with OSM branding so it could be perhaps interesting to look at what 
has been done on their side and check if it can be usefull to reuse some ideas.
