Yeah, I'm working on it - up in the northern suburbs at the moment, it's
the area I know best. It's interesting that many streets that were showing
as OK in the tools prior to the change may still be there, but are missing
many nodes, so they don't match reality any more. I find you have to

Hi
A few things.

Hi all,
Just re-introducing myself... This is Ben from the Central Coast (NSW). I've
been off the grid for a while... some of you might remember I'm a Sydney-based
train driver, and I re-mapped most of Sydney's rail network before the
redaction... it took weeks of solid work and I "burnt myself
I've done a bit of work on the Hume Freeway / Highway tonight and it's not
in too bad shape.
The main problem area is around Yass. I haven't worked further north than
that yet.
Hopefully it's not too far from being able to turn the Melbourne - Sydney
grid green again.

I'm hoping to restore some of Sydney's excellent cycle maps to their former
glory. My previous edits were based on ways that got deleted.
Some LGAs paint cycle routes on the road, but others just put up road
signs. I'm hoping to find some of my old survey notes.

The original coastlines were from PGS see -

We then imported ABS2006 data, and some people aligned the coastlines to
the suburb/town boundaries in that. In some parts of Australia these are
accurate, in other parts not so much.

If you are tracing from aerial imagery it would be a good idea to use

Hi all,
Can anyone give me a "heads-up" as to how we've traditionally sourced
coastlines for OSM? Actually, if it now differs due to licensing, then the
best way forward - I'd like to re-establish the shores for Tuggerah Lakes as a
starting point.
Cheers,
Paul.
Good to hear Peter!!
I've already noticed some great work happening around Sydney. Things are
improving day by day. :)
Just waiting for the bot to hit my local area now.

Michael

Hi Guys,
I'm sticking around, based Brisbane South. I have been putting back some
Highways from memory, Bing and AGRI, There is considerable damage to many
towns in QLD. Mackay has been removed and I think Bundaberg and Maryborough
have been decimated also.
