Hi.
I meant it will give you an idea of where to start looking (so you can
confirm by survey or aerial photo). Same goes for looking at council
published maps.
I wasn't suggesting people copy the data. We need to be very careful about
this.

Could you clarify what you mean by "give some tips", please? This is a
sensitive issue, right?

Hi.
For the moment the cycle map still has the pre redacted data, which will
give some tips.
Many councils paint bike logos that can be seen in Bing, but not all.
Hopefully all the relations linked to from the wiki still exist, but I know
some are in bad shape.

Keeping all Sydney cycle routes in the wiki is a good idea. Updating them
there post-recovery seems reasonable too.
Cooks River and Botany Bay I deleted and then remapped red sections prior
to the redaction, and surprised how much disappeared regardless. Shouldn't
take long to recover those.

FYI, I am working on the Cooks River Cycleway which I mapped over
2005-2006 and can do the M7 cycleway if needed. I've been able to
re-create a map of my efforts from a January 2007 planet dump so have
1,000+ streets and paths over NSW and QLD that I can re-map using Bing
imagery. Dalby, Port M

Hi
I have a Garmin Edge 305 that I can load into Basecamp rather than Training
Centre so can generate GPX files from Basecamp that work with OSM.

Hi.
BTW, in terms of cycle routes in Marrickville I managed to remap some in
advance of the redaction, and I know where any missing ones go.
There is a page on the wiki for Sydney Cycle Routes (pre redaction). Most
of the relations there should still exist, but I haven't had time to check
them ye
Hi Eric,
Try gpsbabel, it's a handy tool that lets you convert ways / tracks /
routes from one format to another:
http://www.gpsbabel.org/
It can be a little complicated to use, and there is a command line and a
gui interface.
The documentation on gpsbabel's website is very good.

Cam.

I'm in Marrickville, but may be able to spend time cycling around and

Don't worry too much about the Hume, it's almost fixed as far as i can tell.
I think I fixed the last issue affecting routing between Melbourne and Sydney
tonight. (hopefully)
South west sydney is full of broken roads.
I'm not too familiar with central Sydney but if a local could take a look,
They should both be OK, with the exception of a minor hickup along the
way (which may also be fixed in the mean time), what does nead work are
the last 200k or so of the Paific Highway in to Brisbane.
In any case I would wait till OSRM has been updated (9:00 CEST
tomorrow) it makes it far easier
Thanks Brian. I'd say anything highway=primary or above is priority,
wherever it is. Fortunately not many of those missing from Victoria.

Hi Brian,
Good have you on board Brian. Take a look at the Hume Hwy and M5
motorway if you get a chance. Both head south west out of Sydney.

Hi All
I can give assistance retracing roads from bing concentrating on motorways
and primary roads - I've made a start in South Sydney. Let me know if
there's anywhere more urgent. I map mostly in Birmingham UK wher we're now
pretty complete and are mostly tracing buildings from bing and addressi
