It should be a wonderful event combining two groups of people passionate
about open source mapping and open data.
All are invited.
Take care and happy mapping!

the name of the road is it incorrect to use source=google? You
are not tracing a road geometry from Google Maps, but you might be using it
for other attribute data. Seems like the tagging should be either
source=bing or source=google or both.

attend the MeetUp.
Hope to see you there!
I am not sure how/where to add this to the OSM wiki pages. Can someone
point me to where this announcement belongs?
Thanks for everything.

could use more information.
Do any of you have any slide presentations available that I could use for
information to build a new intro to OpenStreetMap, Open Source Software
(particularly mapping software), and Crowd Sourcing presentation?
Thanks for the help.

What is the best way to mark and tag a very small airfield that is used
only for remote control (model) aircraft flying. I added one here:

But I am unsure of the best way to tag the airfield and attributes.

=papi, and I don't
see any tags listed for VORs, TACANs, DMEs, etc. When I tag my edits as
aeroway=vasi or aeroway=papi they don't show up on the map. Is there a
better way to tag the edits?
2. Who decides the geographical limits of an aerodrome?
Thanks for the help.

of ASPRS for
years and I am not sure how well they will receive the
opensource/crowdsourced flavor of my presentation. Randy Hale I know
you are also a member of ASPRS. Have you had any success in
integrating both groups?
Take care and I look forward to your input.

Thanks for the encouragement Steve and Alex.
I am already planning to host our next quarterly meeting of the OSM St
Louis Group to correspond with the Spring Editathon so that we can
participate. I will invite the ASPRS group also.

I love the hillshading. It makes the contours pop.
And your project covers my old stomping grounds. Couldn't like it any better.

might be a parcel map Black Hole for your project. I have to imagine
there are other areas in the same situation.

Does Google import any data from OSM? How do we know the data that is
subject to this post was in Google Maps first?
Take care and have a great week.

Hi Kathleen,
I think Randy Hale runs an OSM user group in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Might want to add that into the mix.

. Here the company that leases the
parcel data to the governments is Sidwell.
It might make getting parcel data released for geocoding purposes
difficult in certain parts of the country.
