Nous vous invitons aux célébrations du 9e anniversaire d'OpenStreetMap
à Montréal. Elles auront lieu samedi prochain le 17 août 2013, au Parc
La Fontaine.
Le tout débutera par une cartopartie des principales rues commerciales
près du parc, soit les rues Amherst, Sherbrooke, Ontario et Rachel. Le
rendez-vous est à 15h00 au parc à l’angle des rues Parc La Fontaine et
Napoléon, près de la cabine téléphonique.
L’objectif est d’inventorier les commerces des environs – ou tout autre
élément notable qui devrait être incorporer dans la carte. L’idéal est
d’utiliser un téléphone intelligent pour entrer les données au fur et à
mesure, en utilisant une application comme OSMTracker (Android) ou
GoMap!! (iPhone). Cependant, cela n’est pas un pré-requis pour
participer. Il sera possible de le faire sur papier également.
Par la suite, vers 17h00, vous êtes conviés à partager un pique-nique
en l’honneur du 9e anniversaire du projet. Nous nous rencontrerons sur
le terrain entre le coin de la rue Napoléon et l’Espace La Fontaine.
Desserts et accompagnements seront fournis. Nous vous invitons à
apporter un plat principal, à partager ou à garder pour soi! Il sera
également possible d’acheter un repas à l’Espace La Fontaine.

As you all know this weekend the 9th anniversary of the OpenStreetMap
was celebrated across the world.
In Montreal we will celebrate next week end, on Saturday, August 17th.
We will begin with a mapping party of the main streets around the Parc
La Fontaine: Amherst, Sherbrooke, Ontario and Rachel. The meeting point
is at corner of Napoléon and Parc La Fontaine streets, at the park
entrance. We will meet at 3PM.
The objective will be to map the surrounding shops and restaurants - or
any other notable element that should be incorporated into the map. We
have found that it is preferable to map in real time using a smartphone
app such as OSMTracker (for Android) or GoMap!! (for iPhone), but it
will be possible to use pen and paper as well.
After the mapping event, we will meet at 5 PM for a picnic on the grass
in front of Espace La Fontaine. Desserts and side dishes will be
provided. You are encouraged to bring in a main dish, to share or to
keep for yourself. It will also be possible to purchase a meal at Espace
La Fontaine.
