Also, if you have any connections with GeoBC, it would be great to encourage that dataset to also be made available to the public (or just the data that you have) to be made available on a provincial level. Im sure there are many trail groups who could make use of the data, as well as OpenStreetMap. There is currently a HUGE amount of data (including trail data). Frank will be able to organize it, and decide on the best method to deal with it. (i forwarded this message to him) Im sure he will be happy to help you out. Also, if its a CRD source? id recommend also donating your data to GeoGratis, Natural Resources Canada to be included in the CanVec dataset, so then more people will be able to use the data.
