Hi,
Im just checking twitter and i hear some more noise about SOTM.
Im wondering if you are doing a slideshow presentation?

>From what you said earlier your mainly focusing all on the GeoBaseNRN import
progress. 'cause canvec2osm is still in BETA and 'ruffling' its feathers,
(i'm learning from this GeoBaseNRN experience on how were to deal with all
this canvec data.) Once the 'dust settles' about geobaseNRN and all the
roads get in, the focus will shift over this way.

The keys i would mention if I were speaking are;
- Keep constant contact with the local community talk list, and meet in
person when ever possible.
.... but also be aware that not everyone checks email all the time, so leave
a few days for a response.
- keep an open line of communication's with the source provider, as in the
case with New Zealand, where the government asks for a list of OSM source
tags to better their product) (see NZ talk list) and with NRCan they are
aware of what were upto, where staff are also Mappers on the side
- Whenever anyone has a question, all they need todo is ask.... and someone
out there will know the answer.
- for all issues that come up, keeping a natural POV, and trying to explain
rational reasons for decisions. . Not only helps solve the problem, but most
of the time new angles and ideas can be extracted from controversy. ...
Ie. NIDs with further discussion, were able to fully understand the issues,
as well as re-focus our efforts in creating a clutter-free, but detailed as
each tag needs to serve a purpose for OSM.

Anyway, would be great to get a peek at what you'll be covering.

Hopefully for next year i'll be there, wherever it is on the planet,

Cheers,
