The OSGeo UK group are aiming to host The Free and Open Source 4 Geo
conference in Nottingham in 2013. They are down to the last 2 bidders and
are trying to build support. This conference is superb, last year it was
held in Denver and this year in Beijing. It attracts 1000+ open source

Bit of a departure but a local artist Nikki Pugh, is running an event on
26th April in Brum where you can use these large cylinders with GPS and
other sensors in to react with the built environment.

The data supplied by Amey for the gritting routes appears to have been
captured over A to Z and therefore is inappropriate for the map base that
BCC can legally display on the website. I have taken this data and matched
to OSM to discern the differences. I can supply shapefiles or Mid/Mif f

I have distributed OSM raw data for the west midlands to key GIS folk.
Done the ESRI users first. About to produce tab files for map info
users.
Response has not come back from many folk disappointingly.
Also set up a lunchtime session to demo capturing public toilets data
using potlatch
I'm not able to make it this time sorry. I will pencil in the next one
to report back on state of the map.
