I never made it back from London in time due to two separate incidents at

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] Next meeting

2018-03-28 Thread Rob Nickerson
Hi all,

According to my calendar the next Mappa Mercia meeting is 5th April. Given
that the clocks have changed we should aim to go out mapping.

Did we pick a location?

Best regards,

2017-09-27 Thread Rob Nickerson
With two people saying no to Thursday (3 if you include me) this month, we
might as well go for Wednesday 4th October.

For pubs those in Birmingham may know better but here are some ideas. I
suggest the first on the list unless anyone knows a reason to rule it out.

- The gunmakers arms. Just round the corner from the bull. (seems to have
it's own micro brewery)
- Queen's Arms, Newhall St
- The Shakespeare, Summer Row
- The Wellington (no event on Wednesday / live folk music on
Thursday). Bennetts
Hill
- The Lost and Found. Bennetts Hill

See you soon,

For those who may be new and wishing to come along we typically meet up in the
pub after doing some mapping in the vicinity. Thus usually meeting at 8pm (The
Plaza on Horse Fair in this instance), but if there is anyone new wishing to
get some mapping assistance its typical for someone to meet them by 7pm if we
know who they are.

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] Next meeting

2015-07-06 Thread Brian Prangle
Hi everyone

We've decided to change our monthly meeting from the first Thursday of the
month to the first Wednesday of the month (so no excuses Stuart!). That
makes the next meeting Wed 5th August which will be in Rugby. We need ideas
for a good pub to meet in.

Thanks to everyone for the turnout in Telford on Saturday

Regards

Brian

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] Next meeting day before Good Friday

2015-03-11 Thread Brian Prangle
Hi everyone

There's a video crew going to turn out for this from Boilerhouse Media in
order to get some live mapping shots and some interviews ready for a 5
minute slot on The Information Daily http://www.theinformationdaily.com/

I'm sending them some links to animations and sotm sessions to fill it out.
If you know of any good stuff let me know

They'll follow up with a social media campaign.

We've also got a promise of a slot for any future significant
milestones/events

This is their payback for having used lots of OSM data in their commercial
work of data visualisation for the public sector

So remember to have a haircut!

Regards

Brian
