I have a query
http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/qm4
which searches where population equals an exact figure which works fine.
I would like to be able to select a range. [population >3999 and <5000]
I have tried [population<5000] and [population<=5000] to no avail.
Your help would be much appreciated
Hi,
Note that there is a list of populations (and almost every other tag, except
for a few like name=*) here: http://stat.latlon.org/ie/latest/tags-p.html
It is sorted 'alphabetically', not numerically, i.e. it is sorted 10, 20, 30,
50, 500, 60, 90.

Does this answer your query?

I also read something about using min and max queries which might be
relevant.

This numeric comparison features was only added in Version 0.7.54
There's some blog posts on how to use these new features:
See https://dev.overpass-api.de/blog/numbers.html
and the rest of the posts at https://dev.overpass-api.de/blog/index.html
