I did some mountain biking around Bend, Oregon this summer. Apparently the
Deschutes Ranger District of the US Forest Service can’t decide what to call
their trails. For example, at the Skyliners trailhead, there’s a sign that says
SKYLINER TRAIL NO. 28
JCT. WOOPS TRAIL NO 50 2
.

Loud opinions follow. Be warned. :)
I wish “unclassified” would just die in the USA. I think it has a formal
meaning in other countries (see also “living_street”) but doesn’t have meaning
in the USA. Further, since almost all of the TIGER import didn’t use it, it’s
just creating busywork
Any thoughts? It was there last year,

BTW, how does one find an area that was deleted?

So, I've been thinking about getting involved with OSM, particularly
in terms of improving the map in the area I live in (Fort Lauderdale,
FL, USA).
Has anyone noticed that holding Option+click no longer scrolls the window? I
filed a defect which was downgraded and duplicated and still is open. It
basically breaks my workflow. Does anyone know which old version works?

Maybe you've seen this before, but I haven't. Here are some roundabouts that
are teardrop shaped; the intersection somewhat resembles a dumbbell. Is there
supposed to be a no left turn restriction? Are these even roundabouts?

You're assuming the street signs make sense. Do you preserve signs with
mistakes or omissions?
In Wilsonville, OR, there are some signs for St Moritz Loop and St. Moritz
Loop. Yes, with and without the period, and both expand to Saint. There
are also plenty of signs that leave out the

Here's my opinion, and we all know what opinions are worth. :)
I can understand why highway=path makes sense from a routing perspective.
However, when I look at Mapnik, I want to see the way's intended use. I'm sure
there are plenty of counterexamples, but in my experience, all paths allow

Question: what do people think about minimum standards for tagging
something highway=motorway? In other words, would it be reasonable to
tag a highway as trunk rather than motorway because it has no
shoulders or a low speed limit (40 mph)?
There are plenty of motorways in Portland OR that
