I can delete the tag:
place=village if others agree. At least we still have:
place:ph=barangay
I agree most general purpose maps don't render this
dense-numeric-barangay-names and it has very little significance for
navigation. A better place labels can be the districts like Tondo or
Binondo in
There are several cities in the Philippines whose barangay names are mostly
numeric. The most notorious is Manila with 897 barangays, all numeric save
for a few that have "-A" or "-B" type suffixes.
Barangay geospatial is definitely one thing we should input into OSM, but we
have a messy rendering
Its the Caloocan Barangay Names tagged as
name=X
place=village
place:ph=barangay
It looks a bit crappy on the map. But it is what's on the ground.
