Anyone want to help on

The rail line run right down the middle of the street. There doesn't appear
to be an "official" crossing.
An onsite visit might be in order. Too bad, I was staying just across the
river a week ago.

The keyboard shortcuts are flaky. I need to look at that. Pull
requests welcome! It should not be a hard problem to fix :)
Please click the buttons instead for now.

Did you try clicking the "Edit in JOSM" button instead of using the
keyboard shortcut? For me, when I use the keyboard to get to JOSM,
Maproulette skips the task and opens another one in iD and JOSM at the
same. When I click the button to load in JOSM instead, all works as
expected.

I too tried this task, and it marked as complete tasks that I was not able
to finish. The moment I
pressed the key to load in JOSM, the task was marked as done. It never
loaded in JOSM either.

Or better yet, how about 'level_crossing' not connected to a railway=*? That
would also help weed out non-duplicate nodes.

It certainly helped speed things up the last time! What I remember is
prizes get a little messy to organize if you allow non-US participants
to enter. Other than that all you need is commitment from a company.
Perhaps an Amtrak gift card!

I didn't want to make the instructions too convoluted. We can always
go back in and manually check for these 'unjoined crossings'. I am
just mentioning it here because there's a lot of more experienced

Hey all,
Just a note that these are only the first 2 tasks of what should
be a ~75k task challenge altogether. So depending on how the FRA
sorted the data, it may expose regional gaps for that reason.
Also, please even if you see the crossing rendered, do go in and
check, because I have seen

It was a pleasant dive into the latest MapRoulette challenge - my
impression now is that most road-rail intersections in the US have
previously been touched. The stats for the fix railway challenge seem
to confirm this: 75% are skipped or have been previously completed.
A far cry from the "A
yes, that is a bug in Maproulette. there are actually closer to 60k

I initially got that message too. But when you re-select the challenge, it
will correctly show you the remaining ~19.5k tasks

I just checked and it appears the challenge is complete. Is that true? Less
than 22 hours after you announced it?
It is amazing what the community can accomplish is a very short time.

Fantastic! One question - it recommends to "skip" the task if you can
see the X already. But doesn't this place that challenge back on the
queue where it will stay forever as long as people keep using 'skip'?

Hi all,
Partly inspired by Google making noise about saving lives by warning
people about crossings (see for example

I decided to take that same railroad crossings data from the Federal
Railway Administration,
