I'm glad to see that things are progressing through normal, friendly
discourse rather than the "talk to the hand" or "talk to our lawyers" that
some companies hide behind.

There's some confusion. OpenStreetMap attribution is always required -- Mapbox
enterprise users can elect to remove only the Mapbox attribution.
