This video was shot at the Escuela Argentina de Tango at the Galerias
Pacifico in El Centro where Firpo teaches. He's demonstrating the power of
pausing (probably after a class with that theme) with what looks like a
student from the class.
I was fortunate to have taken classes from Firpo there.

I agree. Gavito also said "I lead and I follow."

Oscar Mandagaran & Georgina Vargas have been giving workshops here in
the Bay Area for the last few months. Last saturday night they performed
and hosted a milonga. Georgina also sang and her voice is amazing.
Toward the end of the milonga, Oscar asked me (among other mere

Thanks for looking. The really cool thing is that they're improvising.

The point of referring to the length of Gustavo's steps was not Giselle's back
step or posture, although they are beautiful, but rather that Gustavo steps
between her feet, not directly in front of them.

Mario,
Take a look at this video of Gustavo & Giselle:

You can clearly see how he has so much room to take big steps in close

Hello Mario,
I never heard of Robert Hauk before I read your posts. So I checked him out

Astrid,
I started taking bellydancing classes about a year ago. It's a great
compliment to tango since it depends on and develops core strength.
And it's fun! One of my favorite dancers is Zoe Jakes.

My favorite film is "Tango Bar" with Raul Julia. It's only available on VHS (at
least in the US). The music and dancing are great and I never tire of

Oh yes Igor, I saw this one too and I like it very very much. Especially the
first part when he does almost all walking, which is so underrated.
I just returned from the Las Vegas tango festival and in the crowded
evening milongas I wanted only a leader who would walk beautifully to the
music.
Michael,
This recently happened to me. I went to a new afternoon milionga for the
first time and a man who I'd watched dance and thought would never ask
me did. We danced 2 full tandas and later 2 more and we really connected.
He asked where I usually danced and I told him I'm not a regular any

I didn't read anything amusing in it at all. Perhaps you didn't actually read
the entire piece? It involved quite a bit more than a teacher touch
Melina,
I tend to be one of those who believe that tango is best learned from
Argentinians but I looked at the video of you two dancing to "Corazon" on
your website (www.youtube.com/tangodesalon) and I'd be standing in line
to attend classes from you two anytime. Hope you come to the SF Bay area
