Michael, we shall continue the conversation in NY when you get here. To
put it simply, If there is no music, there is no dance. If there is no
music, there is no tango. You can also learn how to dance by studying
ballet. But we are reading this list because we dance tango, not ballet.
Nothing in the Trenner quote you give advocates teaching without music.
And if the last message you wrote is his quote and not yours, with all
due respect to Trenner, and without publicly dropping names, every great
teacher and teaching couple i've experienced over the years will
disagree. Because what you end up with is people who cant dance to the
music.  So i guess you can organize a milonga for those people and save
money by not hiring a dj or bringing a sound system.
