Is there a way to have a per-directory .exclude file or similar which tarsnap consults while traversing the file tree? I run tarsnap daily as root to back up my machine (including /home) and it would be nice if there was a way for a user account to create listings of files/folders to be excluded w

I don't recall for sure, but it's entirely likely that the cache directory/files is not created until the first time you perform a backup. It is a cache, after all, and there probably isn't anything useful to put in there until tarsnap has done something. Dave On Wed, Feb 12, 2014 at 3:02 PM, jg
