I'll tryfor example where the typical melody would call for
three different pitched notes Monroe might play the same note three
times in a row.
Yet he would still capture the essence of the melody. hard to
describe in words.

Man, just got a chance to view the clip and had goose bumps. Grisman
is fantastic, have loved him for years and didn't know he recorded
Stomp. Guess I should have looked at the liner notes, I will now. Did
anyone catch the look on grismans face when tater was
recording..that is priceless.
