Hey Tater...have you ever recorded this tune? If so, where can I
find it? I've got a pretty solid traditional Monroe version worked
out. Now it's time to add some flavor. Anybody else out there
pickin' this Mon standard?

I was behind the stage at a camper and I heard Evening Prayer Blues on the
PA and I stopped to listen. It caught my attention, because nobody aound here
plays that tune. I said to my friends, "I wonder who that is, he's good"
Great job!
I hate we didn't get to pick some.

I played Evening prayer blues, couldn't think of another tune that would
sound good without guitar backup (that I know good enough to play by myself
on a stage anyway).

convention in Galax, Va. next week. If so, maybe we can pick some.

That fiddlers convention is one of the best ones in this area. It says alot
that someone from Sweden can win there. At most of the others, the ony ones
that win anything are the local pe
I'm glad I entered the competition too (I didn't even bring my Campanella, I
borrowed a Gibson F5 from a nice picker I met there). I got second place and
that came as a complete shock to me, I guess the judges liked the Monroe
stuff.
It felt weird that a guy from Sweden would do well in a mandolin
