Thanks for the words of wisdom T'buggery, I'm 'leaning in' that's for sure. Discovering where one fits in this whole shebang is very interesting and just reading about gutbucket has been another entire journey. Been working on that monster Prison Blues and it's hard to get the right feel instrument

What about all those folk/blues events you guys have got in Oz? You're leaning towards the old gutbuck

I've been through the duo--add other members to be a band thing. Guess what? The band broke up. I'm back playing with the guitar player again. We did find a bass player who is really great as a person and as a musician. I really enjoy the trio--I don't have to work quite as hard as in the duo and t

I feel if the only reason to add members is to get gigs or make other people happy, then don't bother. A duo is a band, isn't it? And you two are the guys who need to be happiest. You'll add the other pieces if it's right and if it's not you won't. If you're meant to have someone, they'll turn up.

Hell no We are an incompetent duo with fiddler singer, which makes us a trio, but obviously the sound has to come from guitar/mando and no bass, no banjo. It's a terrible job sometimes getting it to sound full and figuring out where the tune needs to be so we can sing it, get bass notes and a groov
