folders and whether the focus is in the message list or not.
That's why I say the feature should be *optional*, so those who like it
and find it useful can use it and those who don't, like me, can block
it.

It works OK here in virtual folders, but as far as I am able to check, only
on messages received since about 26 September 2008!!! One of the messages
in the folder does have to be in focus before the icon number
