Know Filter and "Continue processing with other filters"

When I check the "Continue processing with other filters box" on the Known filter, it will check. If the rule is active and I leave the Sorting Office, when I return the box is no longer checked. However, if the rule in NOT active, the box will stay checked. Can anyone confirm? (I h
