I have a correspondent who uses Mac Eudora, and I often (but
puzzlingly not always) have to use a utility to decode the files from
binhex.  A free product that lets you do that is available at

The binhex encoding wouldn't be limited to JPEG files, but maybe it's
worth a shot?
