Hi, all,

TF> While I see your problem, I am still against using 256 colours.
TF> However, I am in favour of a "seen" flag.
Good, if everyone is in favour of it, we just have to found together
the best way to implement it.
There's some good ideas by now, let's read yours :)

TF> How about this: When you focus a message in the message list and you
TF> don't read through it (either by double-clicking on it or using the
TF> space-bar at least once), it will not be "new" any more, but it will
TF> also not have been "read", thus it has been "seen". Another small icon
TF> then appears, like the "parked" thing, but with an "S" instead of a
TF> "P" (and in orange colour if you like ;-)).
I don't really mind the color :)))
But what I want is to have the *folder* color to change, so I've not
to open it to see if there is just "seen" in it, or if there is also
"new"
TF> This can be toggled on and
TF> off like the "parked" icon.
You idea is good.
For me not enough, because, in this case, I would have to act with
each non urgent post (or, may be, I don't really understand what means
"focus).

What about Ali idea to have a shortcut (I would prefer a click on an
icon) which change *all* the "unread" in a folder to "seen"?
So, just have glance, nothing urgent, click, every "new" is no more
"new" but "seen".

Of course, with your system, you can change back one of them, if you
want...

The two things seems to go well together:
You could act, as you want, on each post or on the whole folder.

I like the idea of the bat moving its wings only when there is "new"
somewhere, too.
