The Bat! would not be just another mail reader having these features
removed: It is small and fast and stable.
Remember that I am not talking about removing these features for the
ones needing them. I am talking about a slimmed down version.

i am NOT talking about removing the current version. I am just
suggesting a slimmer version in addition.
Slimming the code making The Bat! smaller would not be to save HD
space! :) Slimmer code often makes things faster and saves resources.

Yes, I agree with Cricket here. Having a Lite
version of The Bat for unregistered users will
bring in many more potential users. In fact, I
think the best time to do this would be when v2.0
of The Bat is released. v2.0 will be for the
registered users, while Bat Lite (based on v1.x code
base)
