That's the fate of software. When it runs, you are happy. When it does
not run, it's hard to say why.

Thanks to all those answers. Now I know where the problem is. Nearly all the
messages in my Send-Mail-Folders are signed with a S/MIME-certificate
from Thawte. So it's the problem others have described.

I could try it with the MS Crypto API but I won't since 1.60c works ok
for me. I'll wait for the next version and try it again then.

I have a Windows 2000 system with all the fixpacks that are available with
Windows Update (Well, I have not installed the Security Rollup since
some colleges had problems with it).
It is a stable system and the only extensions I use the whole time is
Norton Internet Security 2002 Professional and Norton Antivirus 2002.
This constellation works fine with 1.60c.
So I don't think it's a crappy system here that causes this bug.
