I used Agent for both email and news for years because it was stable (although uuugly), but it's folder system is crude and I think Agent V2 is vaporware. When The Bat v2 was coming out I looked at a bunch of clients, including Opera's M2. When it gets further along its developement, M2 will be really cool. But for now and for me, TB is superior in its abilities for mail. And the maintence features in v2 are great. J> Has RIT ever thought abt developing a news reader?? I think the idea is to create a plug-in to assist with nntp. The plug-in architecture is now present; Rit and others (Alexander?;) will be working on this functionality. While in favor of this, let me go on record as not being in favor of compromising stability or the interface. I've seen this happen time and again with programming components and databases (and done this myself too <g>). In the meantime, you may succesfully use MyGate 2.5 or go with whatever. Dialog http://www.40tude.com/dialog/ has been my newsreader for a year or so. Very nice Delphi app. XanaNews (another Delphi app) http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/delphi.htm is now very functional and stable. As for my plans, I have been exporting my message bases from Agent and Dialog into The Bat. -- Neal ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.00 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
