Hi , First of all, thanks for all the help and suggestions. The people at McAfee more or less said this wasn't possible, but I have finally solved it.
I originally tried to get the command line working from the Accounts/properties/events dialog. Howevger, I have discovered that if in the main settings/general dialog if I choose "other" for the email program and insert c:\progra~1\thebat~1\thebat.exe /checkemailserver in there, Spamkiller dials up, nukes the crap and then instructs The Bat! to pick up authorised mail. A perfect solution. Again, many thanks for all your help.
