Hello Bat-users,

A while ago someone had this problem and I had this problem today.
That Italian box I mentioned before found its way back to me..
Totally unstable and after I replaced the motherboard it was worse.
Considering I expected to be paid for an hours work and a board and
it cost me all afternoon, I wasnt happy!
After messing around, rebuilding his system, etc, I removed one pair of his ram
strips and
  problem disappeared...
So presumably he had blown a ramstrip or strips AND a hard disk and
  a serial port..
Whatever, if anyone gets this problem on trying to install the bat
or the language pack, misbehaving ram can be a reason... Doesnt have
to be a virus when you get a crc error!!

Best regards,

tracer
