Some of us have heard this email dissucssion many times before. It always seems to come out the same. I appreciate the deeper discussion that Nancy added.
I am surprised with all the discussion about students not using email properly that in years past we did not remove paper and pencils from our students for fear that they might incorrectly make use of the level of technology we had in days gone by. I believe that we are charged with the duty of teaching our students how to use the current technology in meaningful ways. This is not without a few bumps. But then maybe no one ever had recess duty where they have had to enfource the idea of collaborative work between students. We allow email - either our own or web based. We deal with any problems that may occur.
