Design and optimize data mart models for MicroStrategy. Translate the reporting requirements into data analysis and reporting solutions. Define and develop BI reports for accessing/analyzing data in warehouse. Customize BI tools and data sets for different types of users. Drive improvement of BI system architecture and development process. Maintains and modify reports/attributes/metrics and underlying views as necessary. Administers production systems and their security as well as coordinates schema changes with ETL specialists. Troubleshoots operational data issues and performs ad-hoc reporting. Minimum Qualifications Are: • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. • 6-10 years dimensional modeling experience • Working experience in large-scale, high availability, end to end MicroStrategy Business Intelligence application development. • Extensive hands on experience in MicroStrategy development (preferably version 8), using Architect, Desktop, Intelligence Server, Narrowcast Server, Report Services and Web components. • Demonstrated experience with translating business requirements into data analysis and reporting solutions. • Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment while working closely with users and lead cross-functional teams. • Must be a self-starter, highly business focused, have the ability to work effectively within a team environment • Must possess trouble-shooting skills and an ability to successfully fulfill business information delivery needs • Must have strong SQL and RDBMS skills • Experienced with OLAP and Narrowcast server • Experienced at tuning reports and designing for performance is essential • Must be self-motivated. • Must possess excellent problem solving capabilities. • Must be able to handle and achieve completion on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. • Extensive hands on working knowledge of SQL and experience with Relational Databases such as Oracle. 6-10 years experience ****************************************************************** *Requirement for Sr QA-Business Intelligence (BI DW)* *Location:* San Francisco *Term:* 8 months *(Should be local as interviews are face to face)* * Need EAD/us citizens/Green Cards* * * *Senior QA – Business Intelligence (BI Data Warehouse)* The BI test engineer works as a project team member to jointly deliver high quality applications on time and budget. The BI Test Engineer is responsible for the definition, implementation, and execution of the functional, regression, and acceptance test strategy on highly iterative and collaborative projects in an Agile environment. Projects will typically be of medium to high complexity. This is a hands-on BI Data Warehouse Test position. Tasks performed will include but are not limited to test planning, manual testing, test automation, test environment setup/teardown, defect logging and verification. Works collaboratively as part of the development team with product managers, software engineers, and architects to define and execute tests throughout the project lifecycle. May be required to provide guidance to other test engineers. Defines, creates, and maintains test data as needed. Responsible for continuously re-evaluating the test strategy to adjust for new information, changing risks, shifting priorities, and schedules. Minimum Qualifications: • At least 5+ years commercial experience in testing large scale data warehouse, etl, data conversion and/or data migration testing • 5+ years experience writing repeatable tests using intermediate to advanced sql, oracle pl/sql • 5+ years Report testing experience using sql, pl/sql • Be able to read and understand a data model • Is familiar with data creation and restore concepts as it relates to database testing • Familiarity with defect management systems • Experience with Test Automation • Participated in full lifecycle development on large projects • Ability to write acceptance criteria for features in simple business language • Understanding of Unit, Functional, System, Performance, Technical and Operational testing and the tools utilized • Is eager to learn new methodologies and tools • Is a cutting-edge knowledge seeker • Is familiar with api and interface testing • Experience with execution and reporting of both manual and automated test scripts • In-depth knowledge of the process and skills to produce the tools needed to automate testing • Knowledge of software development life cycle principles or awareness of Agile practices • Knowledge of programming concepts and practices • Ability to work closely with developers and enable them to produce the best application possible • Ability to determine estimates of effort and impacts for a variety of solutions. • Expectations include a high level of initiative and a strong commitment to job knowledge, productivity, and attention to detail • Has some Programming experience in Ruby or other scripting languages – Python, Perl, VSScript or equivalent experience with another programming language – Java, C++, C#. • Nice to have: Solid Understanding of the DOM, HTML and Javascript. **Candidate questions must be submitted with the candidates resume, either seperate or included.
