A successful candidate will have a passion for good design and a love for developing robust code. *Responsibilities include:* - Implement new features using C++, JAVA and SQL in an Apache/Linux environment. - Write high quality code and unit tests. - Adhere to release/project schedules and milestones. - Create high-level and detailed technical design documents, and conduct design reviews. - Provide technical guidance and assistance to other software engineers. - Maintain and enhance existing product capabilities. - Develop and update product documentation. - Play an active role in implementing and providing feedback on new processes. *Job Requirements:* The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of relevant web protocols. Commitment to highly available and platform independent software is required. - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is required, and Masters preferred, with 3 to 10+ yrs of software development experience. - Expert level C++ (JAVA is a plus) skills are required with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems. - Expert level SQL skills are required with a demonstrated ability to tune and optimize database queries. - Strong understanding and command of OOA & OOP practices, UML is a plus. - Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. - Familiarity with automated unit and system test strategies and frameworks. - Familiarity with Clearcase & Clearquest preferred.
