Job Description :

Architect - Database

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.      System Design and Build
•       Serve as a technical lead for architecture, design and
implementation of various system components
•       Consult on high level design for new initiatives and analyze their
impact on overall enterprise architecture.
•       Work with the team members to influence overall software strategy
and direction.
•       Be responsible for development of large-scale Web applications,
related systems and tools, including analysis, design, implementation,
unit testing and documentation
•       Interact successfully with business owners, project managers and
other technical teams
•       Contribute to company’s engineering standards and best practices
2.      Strategy
•       Examine current systems and suggest improvements that would
introduce step change for wm.com systems.
•       Create and share with the extended team best practices and
standards.
•       Actively participate in capacity analysis preparing the enterprise
for peak load and planning for year over year growth. Suggest
scalability initiatives based on analysis.
3.      Partnership With Lines of Business
•       Work closely with business to understand their needs and help shape
engineering roadmap in sync with business interests.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1)      Competencies: Skills, knowledge, & abilities:

•       Deep knowledge of design and development of database applications.
•       Excellent data modeling skills
•       Excellent software design skills
•       Excellent application tuning skills
•       Good debugging skills
•       Ability to gather, synthesize and drive resolution of projects from
a cross-functional team.
•       Experience designing and building systems for extremely high traffic
and transaction volumes

        Functional Competencies -  Preferred:
•       E-Commerce Experience in product and contact information systems
•       E-Commerce Experience in supply chain information systems

2)      Experience:
•       10+ years of software engineering experience with strong database
background and demonstrated experience on defining enterprise
architecture
•       6+ Database Development with Oracle database
