*Cognos Administrator* I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHSC) Enterprise IT. As part of HHSC initiatives, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals: A. Install/coordinate installation and configuration of IBM Cognos v8.4 on Windows Platforms, upgrades, patches and fixes as required by project deadlines. B. Build out IBM Cognos v8.4 Application Servers, Content Manager, Gateway, and Transformer in a Windows 2008 Hyper V virtual server environment with Oracle as its backend database. C. Assist project teams with tuning of the IBM Cognos v8.4 solution to meet business requirements. D. Performs complex analysis to diagnose system problems, trends, and determine necessary corrective action. E. Assist in development and implementation of application roll-outs and upgrades where IBM Cognos v8.4 is affected. F. Assist developers and application support staff in testing and troubleshooting application. G. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. H. Follow IBM recommended Best Practices for IBM Cognos v8.4 installs and be able to document changes and procedures as needed for the building out Cognos environments from Development to Production. I. Attend application related meetings to provide leadership regarding technical standards and customer requirements. J. Other duties as assigned. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: A Senior Cognos Systems Administrator with five or more years experience installing and configuring Cognos in a Windows environment. Worker must have strong troubleshooting and problem identification skills and will be needed to assist teams with problem resolution. Worker must possess the ability of working with multiple Teams in a large scale environment. Other Special Requirements: Worker must be willing to participate in 24x7 on-call pager rotation. II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum Requirements:* Years Skills/Experience 5 Working in a 24x7 Data Center. 5 Strong Oral and written communication skills and Processes Documentation. 4 Installation, configuration and administration of IBM Cognos on Windows operating system platform; experience with version 8.x required. 4 Administration and configuration of IBM Cognos with Oracle as its backend Database. 4 Documentation of Cognos architectures and installations. 2 Administration and configuration of IBM Cognos Application Servers, Content Manager, Gateway, and Transformer in Windows virtual server environments. * Preferences:* Years Skills/Experience 3+ Experience in the installation of Cognos v8.x on Windows environment with Oracle 10g as a backend database. 2+ Familiarity or knowledge of TIERS and Integrated Eligibility. 2+ Familiarity of IBM Cognos Product Family.** 2+ Familiarity with database concepts. 2+ Virtual OS experience with VMware or Hyper V. 2+ PERL development. 2+ UNIX shell scripting. * * *III. TERM OF SERVICE* Services expect to start approximately March 1, 2010 and are expected to be completed by May 28, 2010. Total estimated Worker hours shall not exceed 520 hours per worker. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing. *IV. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION* A. Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the HHSC. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.
