We have a bare-bones Drupal environment (on a Debian Linux OS platform) set up. The resource will be responsible for customizing & updating the staging and production Web servers (extranet) based on internal requirement. The Web developer will help enhance the website and might have to install additional Drupal modules for new features. The primary function will be customization of Drupal modules & CSS with interfaces to MySQL Database. The individual will serve as a technical point of contact to the content development and management teams during the engagement.
At the end of the engagement, the resource will perform a comprehensive knowledge transfer to the City staff through appropriate documentation. Essential Functions: Web site enhancements using open source Content Management System (Drupal CMS experience preferred). Ability to install and customize feature modules based on City needs. Ability to assist in the creation, theme/layout of various content templates (Content Construction Kit) Liaise with specific City resources to gather requirements and incorporate necessary CMS modules. Good working knowledge of Linux operating system Good understanding of the development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance. Good interface design skills. PHP skill with working knowledge of MySQL (Queries and Optimization) Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with three or more years of software engineering experience as a Web developer/designer in a professional business, or equivalent knowledge and work experience. Good analytical and design skills at single product/single environment level. Good communications and interpersonal skills.
