Please review the following requirement and let me know your comments. *Location:* NYC *Duration:* 6+ Months *Description:* ** The role of the Professional Services (PS) Technical Consultant is to help our Financial Services (FS) clients realize the optimum business value from our company's core products and services, which include: our grid computing, batch workload management and cloud computing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions. This is usually accomplished through: ISV third party software or in-house developed custom application integration, delivery of packaged PS Solutions and add-on products that provide addition value to our customers on top of our core products. Reporting to the FS Professional Services Manager, the Consultant will be required to travel frequently in North America, Europe and possibly other international locations when needed to propose and deliver professional services and as well as deliver formal and informal training. The Consultant will also play a role in helping develop add-in products or packaged PS solution when not on-site or working off-site on a specific client PS engagement. *Responsibilities:* * * The list below complements and may expand on duties already listed above: · Developing code, testing, packaging and deployment of quality services while working closely with ISVs, customers and/or other internal consultants or engineers; delivering formal or informal training such as on-site workshops or classroom/web-based settings. · Provide assistance with the creation of proposals/SOWs in regard to project scoping, estimating, design documentation and related aspects; create both internal and external documentation and reports related to work products and client engagements; handling administrative duties such as timesheets, expense reports, etc. in a timely and professional manner. · Assist with pre-sales qualification when needed, such as estimating project scope, level and time of effort and overall assessment of customer's environment relative to meeting project's goals, requirements, dependencies and constraints. · Assist in providing responses to RFP/RFCs, working with the Account Manager, Sales Engineer and PS Manager. · Provide project planning and management around client engagements as needed to ensure expectations are set and met or exceeded. · Coordinate on-going project activities with PS manager, Sales, Engineering, Support, Customers and other Vendors (when needed) to ensure project success and appropriately manage technical risk and customer issues. · Ensure that at the end of the day, we provide to our customers with a high-value, high-quality service and end solutions and stride to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. · Identify and help design new solution opportunities that help address customer problems. · Protect the intellectual property of both the customer and company and demonstrate a high-level of professionalism and integrity. · Assist in getting project documentation completed and signed off, such as customer acceptance letters, SOWs, test plans, and run books. · Provide leadership when working with third party vendors (ISVs) and share best practices in order to improve the quality of integration work as appropriate for the engagement. Business Degree with a major in Engineering or Computer Science or Finance · At least 2 years experience in the Financial Service Industry, preferably working in either a Risk Management, Pre-trade or Quantitative Analytical developer role. · The successful candidate must be willing to travel as appropriate (60% average). · Given the technical nature of our products and solutions, at least 3 years of recent programming experience in C/C++ and/or Java is required. Strong knowledge of scripting (sh, ksh, perl, etc) would be major asset. · System Administration (SA) experience in Linux/UNIX or Windows is important. · The ideal candidate will have a high level of knowledge in grid computing platforms, monte carlo simulations, virtualization platforms and hypervisors, infrastructure provisioning tools, performance tuning, monitoring and reporting tools, and knowledge of workload scheduler or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) products and concepts. · Must be self-motivated, must have an ability to work well in a geographically dispersed, team environment, must exhibit a positive and professional attitude, and pay attention to detail. · Project management and professional services consulting experience highly desirable.
