Title - BI Microstrategy Analyst/Architect Location: Miami, FL Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire Rate: $55/Hr for the duration of the contract, once they convert full time then they will get 150 K/Year. The BI Architect-Analyst will be responsible for: . meeting with business users to understand needs and requests, . gathering and documenting business and user requirements including prototyping, . designing and developing Data Warehouses on different DBMS platforms, . collaborate in the designing and developing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes . designing and creating MSTR Projects on Microstrategy . administering the Enterprise Wide BI infrastructure, . developing and maintaining MSTR application, configuration and schema objects, . creating and managing project plans, . interface with project staff, including DBAs, ETL Developers, and Business Analysts . coordinating with vendors, . performing quality testing prior to UAT, and . reporting progress throughout the project life cycle. The candidate will work in small teams to lead data warehouse/business intelligence projects. These projects are tailored to our supply chain business needs and they include, supply, packaging, services, distribution, inventory management, invoicing, and billing. Our goal is to provide timely and effective DW/BI solutions to support business decisions. Ideal candidate must: . Have experience in working on Enterprise Data Warehouse projects while understanding actively participating on all project phases. . Have business analysis skills to identify business intelligence solution requirements by interviewing business users, analyzing processes / operations, establishing solution objectives, prototyping solution, and preparing specifications. . Establish a Business Intelligence project plan to accomplish the project objectives according to technology, systems, and information specifications; scheduling tasks; managing funding and staffing; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. . Help select best design and model for data warehouse schema to better accommodate business requirements and business intelligence solutions in the Microstrategy reporting environment. . Support ETL development efforts to load data into enterprise data warehouse by researching and documenting source systems as well as destination tables. . Create and maintain Microstrategy projects including its configuration, schema and application objects like sophisticated reports using advanced filters such as relationship, metric-to-metric, joint element list filters, advanced metrics, custom groups, consolidations, advanced prompts, customer drill maps, etc . Implement complex hierarchies, implement role attributes and versioning, design the schema for optimal performance, use logical views to solve data modeling and schema design issues, and optimize query performance using both, database and MicroStrategy functionality. . Developed different scorecards and dashboards using Microstrategy best practices as recommended by visual design experts, using selectors, widgets, multi-panels, etc. . Set up a proactive, personalized, information delivery services using MicroStrategy Narrowcast server while creating content information objects, documents, publications, subscription sets, and schedules. . Support the Microstrategy platform by managing the architecture, configuration, administration, and connectivity while optimizing the Microstrategy server platforms using governing, caching, scheduling and clustering. . Confirm Business Intelligence project outcomes by establishing standards, testing and QA requirements; writing QA cases; and performing quality testing. . Support operations by resolving technology, systems, and information issues; providing user training; developing and enforcing documentation requirements; and enforcing change control. . Maintain enterprise standards by studying related system requirements and solutions, plan for data security and control, and plan for disaster recovery. . Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. . Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for project success and by exploring opportunities to add value to the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solution. Required technical skills: . SQL ANSI, DBMS Applications/Vendors - MS SQL 2005, 2008, SSIS (Integration Services), SSRS (Reporting Services), SSAS (Analysis Services). Knowledge of the following is a plus: WhereScape RED, Oracle, IBM/DB2, Netezza, Teradata. . BI - MicroStrategy 8 / 9: Desktop, Architect, Administrator, Web, Intelligence Server, Narrowcast Server, Integrity Manager, OLAP Services, Report Services, SDK, Mobile, Office Required non-technical skills: . Strong oral and written communication skills . Self-starting initiative . Experience with systems designed to support supply chain/manufacturing/distribution activities preferred.
