Position: Systems Analyst/Programmer Location: Baltimore Rate: $40/hr. The candidate needs to have 3 years of experience with an IT degree and 6 years without an IT degree Tester/Script Developer (T/SD) supporting a case processing system (CPS) used nationally by a major Federal agency. The CPS is mainframe based with a web front-end to facilitate use, and includes COBOL/CICS, JCL, and DB2 to manipulate and store data. The T/SD interacts with the customer to identify testing requirements. Also, the T/SD reviews respective customer documentation, such Detailed Functional Requirements (DFR) and Problem and Incident Reports (PAIRS). The T/SD must be able to define script-level validation tests, enter them into an automated tool, run, and assess the effectiveness of the validation tests. The T/SD prepares weekly status reports to report accomplishments. Requirements: . Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (six years of additional applicable progressive experience may be substituted for degree). . Four to six years hands-on experience assessing business functional requirements. One to two years hands-on experience developing test plans, and creating and maintaining test scripts using QuickTest Pro. . Four to six years hands-on experience performing validation testing including Web-based applications. . Experience with Quality Center. . Heavy VBScript experience. . Experience writing SQL queries. . Ability to work independently. . Flexible to a changing work environment and priorities. . Self starter - able to work with minimum supervision. . Customer focused. Desired Qualifications: . Knowledge and understanding of mainframe-based development and testing. . Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to prepare reports, briefings, and demonstrations. . Strong working knowledge of Windows XP and Office 2000 (Word and Excel). . Working knowledge of CMM (Capability Maturity Model) or CMMI (CMM Integrated). . Note: This is neither an analyst nor a tester only position.
