*Required skills:* Eight to ten years experience in Mainframe Database
Administration for both DB2 and IMS. Prior experience on projects that
requires understanding of a software development life cycle and methodology.
At least four to five years experience in the design, development and
support of both large OLTP and Data Warehousing related databases and
applications. Additional skills a plus; UDB on AIX SQL Server



*Project description:* Working with developers to implement
application/database enhancements Consulting/reviewing developers’ SQL or
DL/1 code DB2 and IMS Performance tuning DB2 and IMS Performance monitoring
Database maintenance – Reorgs, backups, etc. Production on-call – The
production on-call responsibility is rotated every 2 weeks between the 3
dba’s. Their responsibility is to be available to respond to any production
DB2 and/or IMS problems. This may include assisting application developers
to de-bug application programs that have abended in production against
either DB2 or IMS databases. Creating and populating test environments, DB2
and IMS, in test regions for applications testing. DB2 and/or IMS version
upgrade testing Works closely with Data Architects, ETL team, application
development

Specific needs for particular skill sets to supplement current team on-site
in the area of mainframe IMS/DB2 database administration. The mainframe DBA
staff supports DB2 and IMS applications for the following divisions; Parts
Auto Motorcycle & Power Equipment Service/Warranty ISD Finance AHFC The
applications in each of these divisions are legacy systems written over 20
years ago. Initially, most of these systems began as IMS systems. Later,
some of the divisions began converting their IMS databases/applications to
DB2. This effort was never completed as the organization’s (ISD) future
architectural strategy was to implement all new applications on either the
UDB/AIX or MS SQL Server distributed platforms. As a result, approximately
65% of applications are DB2 and 35**
