*Position: 1* * * *Oracle DBA – 2 positions – location – NYC* This individual will be working in the database team of Financial Information Systems group for Corporate Comptrollers, to design, develop and support various database and/or web applications, which deliver various business solutions for Corporate Comptrollers. This role will be able to handle moderate to complex problems and technical resolutions without escalation and/or with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: *- Development responsibilities:* * * - Work with other team or team member(s) to design, develop, implement and support multiple database systems, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, by following *S*oftware *D*evelopment *L*ife *C*ycle (SDLC) - Work with business analysis (BA) team on collecting and understanding business requirement, and assist business analysts on constructing technical specification and interact with quality assurance team on testing - Work on Issue tracking systems and version control applications such as Clear Quest, PVCS - Interact with business users on functional/technical information and bug fixing - Collaborate with other team members on knowledge sharing and best practices *- Database Administration responsibilities:* - Implement, support and maintain database systems (Oracle, Microsoft SQL server), including software installation, code deployment, database tuning, capacity planning, backup/restore and trouble shooting. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Accounting, or comparable experience - 5 - 8 years experience in Information technologies, at least 5 years experience in Database administration and Database development and/or Web development - Experience in various database systems – Oracle and Microsoft SQL server is a must - PL/SQL, Transact-SQL is a must - Other program skills, such as C++, Java, VB is desired - Data warehouse and business intelligent experience is desired, such as OLAP tools, ETL tools, Cognos, Business Objects, Essbase …etc - Familiar with various operating systems, such as UNIX, Windows… etc. - Familiar with full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Proficiency with front end, middleware and back end web based tools - Knowledge of Finance and Accounting systems is desired - Understand business processes and priorities. Key Accountabilities: The Performance Lab Tester will be primarily responsible for performing throughput, latency, and capacity measurements and reliability tests of an equity trading system in Capital Markets. The work will involve working directly with the trading application, scripting / programming, performing data analysis, managing the performance lab, and producing reports. Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): - Financial industry experience with Equity Trading systems and applications - Performance analysis including throughput, latency, and capacity measurements; system reliability and failure recovery methods and procedures - One or more programming (Object Oriented) and scripting languages - Statistical and numerical analysis, and proficient with Microsoft Excel - Candidate must have good team work ability, as well as good written and verbal communication skills. - The position demands a high level of responsibility and commitment. - A strong knowledge of infrastructure issues such as servers, networks, data centers and application deployments Required Accreditation(s): Education: BA/BS Special Conditions: The position is located at offices in Princeton Junction, NJ and at downtown Manhattan.
