*Purpose and scope:*

Defines and maintains the architecture for Information Security access to IT
applications, ensuring that the integrity and administration of security
access to critical applications is in compliance with applicable government
regulations and Healthcare industry best practices. Participates on all
necessary application and infrastructure project teams providing application
security guidance and services, ensuring compliance with application
security architecture.



*Principal responsibilities and duties**:*

   - Works across the IT organization to ensure the development of the
   application security architecture. The scope of the security architecture
   includes:
      - establishment of definition and standards for security related
      technologies such as single sign-on functionality,
      - directory services,
      - identifying management tools and standards for application
      integration with personnel systems for employee,
      - Contractor and affiliate information.
   - Responsible for the development of procedures related to security
   administration and the training and transition of knowledge to the
   appropriate organizations. Solicits required feedback to adapt the
   application security architecture to meet ongoing business needs.
   - Leads and facilitates cross functional project team in the creation and
   ongoing maintenance of a corporate Application Security Architecture.
   - Implements, owns, maintains and supports security tools such as Oracle
   Identity Management System.
   - Reviews and revises certification and accreditation documents to
   satisfy requirements of Security Plan.
   - Ensures configuration management for security relevant IS software,
   hardware and firmware is documented and maintained.
   - Formally notifies I/T Shared Services management of any changes that
   might affect the security of I/T environment.
   - Ensures that system security requirements are addressed during all
   phases of the system development and life-cycle.



*Education:*

   - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
   - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified
   Protection Professional (CPP), or Global Information Assurance Certification
   (GIAC) credentials would be a plus.



*Experience and Required Skills:  *

   - 8 years in I/T security management and support role.
   - Experience of security capabilities and requirements for platforms and
   technologies, including, but not limited to:
      - Microsoft Windows
      - Microsoft Active Directory
      - Microsoft SQL
      - Microsoft Exchange
      - Microsoft Terminal Services
      - HP UX
      - Oracle DBMS
      - Lotus Notes
      - Citrix
      - Cisco Networking Hardware
      - Cisco VPN
   - Extensive experience with security technologies such as single sign on,
   LDAP directories, firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention, virus / spam
   prevention, vulnerability scanning in large, widely deployed environments.
   - Experience with legal and regulatory issues related to healthcare
   information technology preferred.
