Dear Business Owner, On Tuesday, April 6, 2010, SMEC members met USCIS at the Vermont Service Center. This was a meeting called by USCIS to discuss with stakeholders various issues related to H1B non immigrant visa - SMEC members had detail discussions with top ranking officers of USCIS and there were also many other USCIS officials at this meeting - we discussed a few cases in detail with USCIS. The discussions were very positive and SMEC has established a working relationship with USCIS to address problems faced by our industry. We are hosting a meeting next Thursday to communicate to everyone the details of this meeting with USCIS, get your opinions and to chart the next course of action. All companies that depend on immigration based employment / staffing are encouraged to attend.
