Department: Information Systems
Reports to: Network & Systems Administration Manager.
Duration : 3-6 months
Primary Function of Position:
Responsibilities for this position include the deployment, support and
upgrade of Linux servers running SAP and other Infrastructure servers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position has responsibility and authority for:
Ø Join our IT technical team to support hardware, architecture for SAP
application and Oracle database servers.
Ø Install, configure and maintain hardware/software on Linux servers.
Ø Administer and manage setup and backups on Linux systems using VERITAS
Netbackup.
Ø Administer and setup Veritas Clusters running Oracle/SAP applications
Ø In depth technical knowledge and hands on experience with Linux/EMC/Cisco
SAN.
Ø Design and implement upgrades, develop infrastructure, manage and
automate recurring tasks, and help ensure that technology is always an aid,
never an obstacle.
Ø Be an escalation point for our Helpdesk team and share in our 24/7
on-call responsibilities.
Ø Work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, employing exceptional
technical expertise and individual initiative while maintaining a
user-centered attitude.
Ø Monitor system performance and resources. Design closed-loop quality
metrics demonstrating your system’s performance.
Ø Experience with administration of SVC, CVS version control servers
Ø Experience with administration of Bugzilla
Skill/Job Requirements:
Competency Requirements: (Competency is based on: education, training,
skills and experience.)
In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the
individual must:
Ø Experience with Linux/EMC/Cisco SAN/Netapp environment is required.
Ø Experience with Red Hat clustering would be a plus.
Ø Experience as a member of an SAP implementation team
Ø Experience as primary (or responsible) support person for a mission
critical operations support environment
Ø Ability to diagnose, isolate and resolve customer technical support
requests and document actions taken
Ø Experience with Veritas Global Clustering application and file systems is
required.
Ø Must be able to perform well in a multitasking, dynamic and potentially
stressful environment.
Ø Experience with project management, change management and process
control; excellent documentation skills.
Ø Interoperability experience with Windows Active Directory is a major
plus.
Ø Ability to provide accurate, concise issue statuses and escalate issues
to management as needed.
