*POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:*
* **Brief Summary:*
* *Perform security validation and testing in support of Verizon's Services
and is to ensure platforms across Verizon's networks are tested and
validated per vendor release against Verizon's security requirements. These
activities requires expertise and SIT testing skills across FIOS, FTTP
Video, VoIP, switching/routing network elements and EMSs. In addition,
automation, testing verification, and lab support related to the various
security testing components and platforms deployed across Verizon's networks
are also required.
* *The Security Contractor is a well rounded with telecom exposure and
specialized in the first 4 items of the following areas:
1. *Security Evaluation and Testing: *Vendor EMS' and Network Elements of
various releases supporting Verizon's FiOS, Video and VoIP Deployments
2. *Security Lab*: setup and ongoing testbed support
3. *E2E Security Testing Documentation*: Test Plans, Test Exit Reports,
Test Cases (MQC)
1. Test Cases Development
2. Regression Testing
3. Functional Testing
4. Test Bed Configuration & Design Validation
4. *SIT Support Systems*: WRS, NMST Document DB, weekly and monthly
status updates
5. *Automation*
6. *Wireless*
Security domain expertise required by the candidate includes: Set Top Box,
Broadband Home Router Management System (CMS), VoIP platform, Video and
Internet testing, Lab setup and Support; automation (if required) and
documentation. Approved documentation must be based on ISO 9001 processes
and SIT LQRA system utilizing SIT's HP Quality Center as well as other SIT
used systems.
*Primary Roles and Responsibilities:*
**
The candidate should have appropriate working knowledge of and certification
in the various network elements and their associated EMSs (for example,
Cisco Certification, and knowledge of its associated EMSs). Also, be able to
provide testing services on the following platforms including, but not
limited to, the following components, and platforms for existing and
subsequent releases:
- Develop and Issue required Test Documentation:
- FiOS components: STB, BHR, ONTs, OLTs, EMSs
- Video Components: VDR, Video Pumps, IMG, etc
- VoIP Platform: Firewalls, IDPs, SoftSwitches, Media Gateways
- Application Layer Servers
- Security fundamentals applied to Optical Elements; Switching Elements,
- Create or Support the test bed development. This includes test and
setup of systems, EMSs, Network Elements and Applications
- Execute test cases (manual, automated, or hybrid) and Identify and use
appropriate Scanning, fingerprinting and penetration Tools
- Provide support in discussing and documenting uncovered Critical
Troubles with vendor
- Develop test results documentation or create presentations as desired
by stakeholders
The candidate will perform the primary role for Security Evaluation of
Network Management and Network Element Systems across FTTP FiOS Platform,
which requires strong security knowledge and background with system level,
communication protocols, and lab expertise.
The selected candidate will provide specialized technical support for
systems integration and testing of management systems poised for deployment
in the Verizon network. The individual must be a quick learner and a team
player with strong communication skills in order to work effectively with
cutting-edge telecommunications technologies and services. Specifically,
this person will be responsible for all phases of the test cycle including:
Analyze requirements, develop test cases, create test and integration plans,
build test beds, perform testing in a team environment and document results
in compliance with ISO 9000:2001 standards. Additionally, this person will
be required to interface with vendors to accomplish these tasks.
*REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:*

Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Master's and/or other advanced degree desirable; Security Certification a
plus
4+ Years minimum experience in telecommunications and/or network
technologies
4+ Years minimum experience in security testing of systems and/or software
Strong technical knowledge of IP and internetworking
Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills
Ability to prioritize and project-manage work within a multitasking
environment
Strong written & verbal communication/presentation skills
Highly motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently and
collaboratively
