You will be required to provide day to day production support of the in-house applications from a MS SQL perspective. This demands intense troubleshooting/problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment. SQL script writing will be required to mitigate issues resulting from data conditions and analysis of issue due to defects in stored procedures, views and functions. You will be part of the on call rotation with limited shift and weekend work and will be expected to handle a variety of support including application and file transfers while on call. Ability to code/provide support in ANSI SQL i.e. raw SQL....not in conjunction with the tools and plugins that help with SQL ability to write/troubleshoot a basic select statement (to select data from a database) in SQL ability to write/troubleshoot indexing (indexing refers to how the data is organized in the database; much like an index in a library works) troubleshooting indexes help in the performance and tuning of the database.
