Considering the age of Witango 5.5 (15 years now) I can't be sure, you'll have to test the configuration yourself. I would suggest, however, that if you have a problem with OCI, try switching to JDBC. Oracle works well with JDBC, but you may need to run an older JVM.
Note that newer versions of TeraScript, notably 6.2, were tested against Oracle and have updated OCI support. We continue to support OCI in 7.x as well, albeit with less testing as there are fewer customer using it. JDBC is the recommendation now, with TeraScript 8 only supporting JDBC. This is the pertinent release note from 6.2.1: Updated OCI implementation to modern (11g) standards. We expect this implementation to work with any version of Oracle 8 and newer, but recommend customers using OCI to install the latest version of Oracle and the InstantClient drivers that they can, including all patches. This was a complete rewrite so please bring any reports of incorrect behavior to our attention.
