Thanks a ton! As it turns out that was the problem, the weird thing is I wasn't using any additional paramters, for some reason the page formating strangness was default. In autoit I am now using this to launch Tesseract ShellExecuteWait(@ProgramFilesDir & "\Tesseract-OCR\tesseract.exe", '"'

I am currently using Tesseract in my screen scraping app where I am reading only 1 type of digital font. I have noticed however that Tesseract occasionally mixes up 7s and 1s on a fairly frequent basis (5% of the time). Since I am only using one font is there a way of refining this a bit more
