Tesseract's character recognition fails in presence of photo images

2013-03-14 Thread Adam Eikman
Hello All, Do you happen to have any tips towards improving Tesseract's performance next to photographic images? Tess's performance is solid until there is an image next to text, then it fails to find anything. The images are mammograms with text labels off to the side. Let me know of any furt

Hello All, Tesseract is working well for me until the text to be recognized is near non character image data at which point the program fails to recognize anything. Any tips for improving performance in this situation. Thanks, -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to th

Thanks all. I will read the document and try to do so. Actually, I am trying to capture the screen text which has small text. Do you have any advise for me on how to do the best pre-processing steps? Thanks. On Thursday, March 14, 2013 10:18:37 PM UTC+7, Nick White wrote: > > On Thu, Mar 14, 201

Yes, you can do that. Check on the online documentation / FAQ for instructions. However image preprocessing may help more. Check the section on minimum text sizes. --Sven On Thu, Mar 14, 2013 at 5:07 AM, newbie wrote: > Hello all, > > I would like to train the Tesseract engine for new bad recog

Hello all, I would like to train the Tesseract engine for new bad recognition character in English. I have no idea that if I can append these trained data into the exist English traindata or not. Could you please advise me if we can do this? Thanks. -- -- You received this message because y

Preprocessing often helps, but tesseract does binarization internally. Please look at the FAQ for size requirements. On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, Attila Somogyi wrote: > Hi! Does Tess need any kind of preprocessing on the image? Would that > increase the recognition success? Also I would like to

Hi! Does Tess need any kind of preprocessing on the image? Would that increase the recognition success? Also I would like to ask if there is a favourable image size or image format? Any help is appreciated. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "tesser
