I know it was a long time ago but are you still playing with Tesseract? I
am currently doing my final year project in uni and I am trying to use
Tesseract which doesn't give me a high successful rate (like 20%). I really
desire to know how you do your preprocessing and training data.

She has not posted to the list in a while, but Nick suggested using
ImageMagick command line to someone with a similar issue:
convert in.png -monochrome -density 600 -compress none out.tif
Perhaps you can search the archives with 'tesseract meter reading'

and white line of numbers from the photo and I've trained a new
